Edgar Cayce’s vision of the future
Whether you believe in prophesies or not, whether you you are a true skeptic and discount all ‘New Age’ out of hand, there is always something of interest to be found in the readings of Edgar Cayce.
For those not familiar with Edgar Cayce, he was a man recognized by many to have an unusual psychic gift. From an early age, his mental prowess was evident. He was able, for example, to memorize entire books by putting them under his pillow and sleeping on them. Over his lifetime from 1877 to 1945 he gave thousands of reading. Although many were concerned with the health of individuals, many were predictions of the future, explanations of the past and about spiritual growth.
One prediction which Cayce made many times and in many ways in his readings was that there was about to be a new era or epoch on Earth. This new era would be one of peace and spiritual fulfillment.
“In terms of global consciousness, Cayce suggested that everyone on the Earth is part of a family—a brother, a sister—and part of this New Age consciousness would entail us becoming aware of that responsibility to one another; that regardless of the nation we were in, or where we were in the Earth, we would become aware that we had to help someone on the other side of the world. And that’s something that would be a part of where we’re heading as well,” says Kevin Todeschi, Executive Director of Atlantic University, and Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment.
Just as predicted by Edgar Cayce, we have also had the realization of the importance of helping others for no other reason than we share our planet with them. We realize too, that no person is really substantially different from or separate from us. Whether we like it or not, accept it or not, we share in every human tragedy and every and triumph. Every choice we make has an impact on someone else just as their choices have an effect on us.
